Effective early 2026, Recycling Alternative will begin providing Recycle BC collection services for multi-family residential buildings in the Downtown, False Creek, Mount Pleasant, and Kitsilano areas of Vancouver.
This change applies to buildings currently using Recycle BC recycling totes. If your building is located within the boundaries shown on the map below and you have Recycle BC totes, your recycling collection will be handled by our team starting in early 2026.
For questions about flexible plastics tote delivery or the upcoming service changeover, please call 604-874-7283 prior to service start date in early 2026.
What this means for your building:
Regular recycling collection will continue, now managed by Recycling Alternative. No action is required. A new tote for Flexible Plastics will be delivered to your property after January 5, 2026. Click here for information and posters about the Flexible Plastics stream.
A map of the service area is provided below to help confirm if your building is included. If your building is in the service area but not currently serviced in the Recycle BC program, please directservice@recyclebc.ca to register for service.
